AROUND TOWN: View up-and-coming photographers at Symbolic Gallery

Want to catch some of Las Vegas' up-and-coming photographers?

The UnScene Photography Tour will make a stop in Las Vegas from 7 to 10 p.m. Sept. 23 at Symbolic Gallery, 4631 Dean Martin Drive. Pictured right is "Circus Circus" by Brendan Steele, one of the finalists whose works will be shown at the gallery.

The UnScene exposes emerging artists worldwide through mobile and online competitions by traveling city to city to expose emerging artists via one-night gallery events. At each event, one photographer is awarded with a prize. Working with galleries and non-traditional public venues, the UnScene aims to find artists and help them get ready for the spotlight.

One lucky finalist will go to the grand finale event next spring in Las Vegas to compete against six other finalists for a national spread in 944 Magazine. Winners will be chosen by 944 readers.

All the works will be on sale that night to benefit a local charity.

The event is free and open to the public.
