Buchman eliminated, finishes fourth at World Series of Poker
Eric Buchman of New York was eliminated in fourth place at the World Series of Poker’s Main Event at about 5 a.m. Sunday, taking home $2.5 million.
Buchman, who came into play on Saturday in second place with 34.8 million in chips, led many times throughout the day. But his leads were whittled down by other players.
He was eliminated by Maryland logger Darvin Moon on the 271st hand of the final table, some 14 hours after play began.
On the 264th hand, Buchman lost the largest pot of the tournament so far, dropping 45 million in chips to Frenchman Antoine Saout, who picked up three kings.
With three players remaining, Saout is the chip leader with 80.65 million in tournament chips. Moon is second with 75.9 million while Michigan resident Joseph Cada is third with 39.225 million in chips.
Cada, 21, is seeking to become the youngest winner of the World Series of Poker’s Main Event. Saout would become the first citizen of France to win the Main Event.
