Bullpen betrays 51s in loss to Rainiers

Ty Kelly drove in four runs, including a game-tying three-run home run in the sixth inning, to help lead Tacoma to an 11-8 Pacific Coast League home victory over Las Vegas on Monday night.

After the Rainiers tacked on two more runs in the sixth, the 51s tied the game in the seventh only to allow three runs in the bottom of the inning.

Starter Darin Gorski allowed just three unearned runs on three hits and left after five innings with Las Vegas (58-45) ahead 6-3, but the bullpen let him down.

Ryan Reid allowed five runs in the sixth inning and Zack Thornton surrendered three in the seventh.

Daniel Muno drove in three runs and scored two for the 51s. Cesar Puello went 3-for-3 with 2 RBIs.

Jesus Montero and Humberto Quintero each drove in two runs for Tacoma (49-52).
