MARCH MANNA TO GIVE FOOD, VOUCHERS AND MORE TO STRUGGLING FAMILIES

Single mothers and families struggling with unemployment or lean times can attend the fourth annual March Manna event planned from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 24 at Deep Roots Christian Church, 4161 N. Rancho Drive, Suite 110.

The free event is to feature giveaways of food, toiletries, paper products and vouchers for services such as haircuts and medical care. The amount of supplies each family receives depends upon its size. Lunch is to be provided. Participants must register by March 21.

The event is hosted by Deep Roots Christian Church, Christ Community Church of the Nazarene and Communidad Christiana Church, which share a worship space, and other religious organizations.

Past participants have been single mothers and families that don't necessarily qualify for assistance programs but face financial hardships due to unemployment or reduced wages.

WOMEN TO HONE SKIING
AND SNOWBOARDING SKILLS

Snow Divas, a five-week women's ski and snowboard program that includes skill-building clinics for skiers and snow boarders and social events, is set for 12-4 p.m. Thursday and March 22 at the Las Vegas Ski & Snowboard Resort, 6725 Lee Canyon Road on Mount Charleston.

Registration includes a 2½-hour skill-building clinic, a ski party with complimentary wine and appetizers.

A one-time Snow Divas pass is $69 without a season pass and $49 with a current pass. Attendees must be 21 or older and be comfortable navigating beginner terrain and using a chairlift.

BASS PRO SHOPS PLANNING BOAT SHOW

A free boat show is planned at Bass Pro Shops, 8200 Dean Martin Drive, Friday through Sunday and March 23-25.

Topics include "Do-It-Yourself Service" at 1 p.m. Saturdays, "Local Fishing Tips" at 2 p.m. Saturdays, "Using the Latest Electronics" at 3 p.m. Saturdays, "Towing Your Boat" at 1 p.m. Sundays, "Organizing your Boat to Fish" at 2 p.m. Sundays and get "Local Fishing Tips" at 3 p.m. Sundays.

Attendees may register to win prizes, including kayaks, gift cards and shopping sprees.
