MOMS CLUB PLANS OPEN HOUSE MARCH 13

The Centennial Hills chapter of MOMS Offering Moms Support, or the MOMS Club, is slated to host an open house from 10:30 a.m. to noon March 13 at Centennial Hills Park, 7101 N. Buffalo Drive.

The club is part of an international nonprofit organization founded to support, engage and enrich the lives of stay-at-home moms.

The event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments are to be served.

ROTARY CLUB CHARITY GOLF TOURNAMENT TO BENEFIT LILI CLAIRE FOUNDATION

A charity golf tournament hosted by the Centennial Hills Rotary Club is planned for 8 a.m. April 21 at the Silverstone Golf Club, 8600 Cupp Drive.

Comedian Hal Sparks is to host the event, and a luncheon and silent auction are planned. Proceeds are to benefit the Lili Claire Foundation, which assists children with special needs.

Tickets are $150 per person or $500 per four-member team.

Go green for St. Patrick's Day during a corned beef and cabbage luncheon planned for 11:30 a.m. March 17 at the Centennial Hills Active Adult Center, 6601 N. Buffalo Drive.

Members are encouraged to register for the event. The fee is $8.

RED ROCK CANYON TO HOST
MEDICINAL PLANT HIKE march 14

The Red Rock Canyon Interpretive Association plans to host an educational hike titled Medicinal Plants of the Moenkopi on March 14 at the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area.

Besides being home to a variety of recreational opportunities, Red Rock Canyon provided a number of useful desert plants for Native Americans. Rangers will discuss the traditional uses of a variety of plants. The 2-mile hike is rated easy and is good for all ages.

AARP OFFERS FREE HELP PREPARING TAXES

Members of the Centennial Hills Active Adult Center, 6601 N. Buffalo Drive, can utilize free tax preparation services through April 9 thanks to AARP. Appointments are required.

WOMEN'S FIREARMS GROUP TO MEET

The Women of High Caliber, a monthly social group for women to learn about firearms or improve their shooting skills, meets at 6 p.m. the last Thursday of the month at the Clark County Shooting Range, 11357 N. Decatur Blvd.

Each meeting includes a social and educational hour, followed by target shooting at the rifle and pistol range.
