College professor accidentally teaches wrong course for entire semester
Last year, the College Board released a wholesale revamping of AP biology. The goal was to clear students' minds to focus on bigger concepts and stimulate more analytic thinking. In biology, a host of more creative, hands-on experiments are intended to help students think more like scientists. Students at Lonestar College near Houston say their professor taught them the wrong course for months before realizing her mistake.
The students signed up for an introduction to chemistry course, but what they were taught was much more advanced, they told KHOU. It wasn’t until shortly before their final exam that the teacher admitted her mistake and added extra credit to their grades.
The school says the correct course was taught, but the head of the chemistry department admitted in an email that a mistake had been made.
