Corvette club donates to St. Jude’s Ranch for Children
The Las Vegas Corvettes Association and Fairway Chevrolet recently donated $3,500 to the St. Jude's Ranch for Children in Boulder City. The money was raised during the fourth annual Corvette Roulette, a three-day social event for Corvette owners that was held in May.
The donation will benefit St. Jude's 47 Boulder City campus residents, some of whom attended Corvette Roulette. The organization provides housing and counseling to young people, ages 2 to 21, who have been abused, abandoned or neglected.
"Donations such as this help cover food, electricity, being able to take the kids to special events, educational expenses and things of that matter," said Greg Andrews, chief financial officer at St. Jude's. "It's very helpful in keeping the ranch operating and letting these kids see a different side of life."
Upcoming events held by the Corvettes Association and Fairway Chevrolet will benefit a food bank and the Bill and Lillie Henrich YMCA.
"It's always nice to be able to do a car event -- like the rallies and autocross and car shows -- have fun and be able to give to a charity," Bonnie Corbett, events coordinator for the Corvettes Association, said.
Since 1967, St. Jude's has served more than 1,000 children on its three campuses, two of which are located in Texas. Find donation wish lists and more information at www.StJudesRanch.org.
