Clark County on Tuesday announced the new directors of the Department of Family Services and the Department of Social Service.
Tim Burch, who has been running the Clark County Department of Family Services since August, has been named the department's permanent director after a six-month open national search, the county said in a statement Tuesday.
During the search, "it became clear that Tim was the best person for the job," County Manager Don Burnette said.
Burch has worked for the county for 16 years and has more than 20 years of experience in human services programming, the release said. His starting salary will be $145,000, county spokesman Erik Pappa said.
Michael Pawlak, who was the county's manager of community resources management for 18 years, has been named director of the Department of Social Service. Pawlak oversaw the county's involvement with affordable housing and community development, the release said.
"Under Mike's leadership, I'm certain that the department will continue to make great strides in bringing together grants in housing and human services to better serve those in need in our community," Burnette said of Pawlak's new position, which will earn him $114,500 a year.
Both men will be appointed in front of the Clark County Commission on Feb. 16.
