Couple finds ‘slice of life’ at Sun City Aliante

Pat Lamendola and Anthony Longo said they have found their slice of heaven at Del Webb's Sun City Aliante.

The couple moved into the age-qualified community in late 2006, and are currently easing their way into retirement.

Located in Aliante, a North Las Vegas master-planned community, Sun City Aliante offers seven single-story designs in three collections. The floor plans range from 1,155 to 2,105 square feet with up to three bedrooms and two baths. All homes come with two-car garages. Prices start in the mid-$200,000s.

"We like the quietness of the area and the quality of the homes and neighborhoods in Aliante," Lamendola said. "It's very suburban-feeling and well-separated from metro Las Vegas. It feels like a place where you can get away."

Lamendola said one of the greatest amenities at Sun City Aliante is the spirit of camaraderie Del Webb promotes at all of its Sun City communities.

"Everyone is so friendly," she said. "We have already made friends with many other couples from all over the country, which is really nice. We're really enjoying ourselves here."

Lamendola and Longo purchased a Laurel design at Sun City Aliante. The 1,576-square-foot home features two bedrooms and two baths, plus a den option.

"In the morning, we look out our rear window to a beautiful desert sunrise," Lamendola said. "Also, our entertainment area and kitchen are just beautiful. We love the openness and spacious feel of this home. It is perfect for the two of us and provides the extra space we need when we have visitors."

While attracted to the more serene side of Sun City Aliante, Lamendola and Longo are excited to have the Aliante Station resort, which is under construction nearby.

"The casino was an attraction for us from day one," Lamendola said. "Also, the shopping areas are beautiful. The entire Aliante community has really blossomed, with lots of restaurants, retail stores, and so many other conveniences close to home."

Amenities at Sun City Aliante include a clubhouse with conference rooms, an indoor swimming pool, game and hobby areas, billiard tables, fitness center, computer lab, tennis and bocce courts and walking trails with scenic views of Aliante Golf Club.

Homes are constructed with Environments for Living building technology. They also include blown-in cellulose insulation, conditioned attic spaces, 15 SEER air-conditioning units and dual-pane, vinyl-framed low-e windows.

To visit, take U.S. Highway 95 or Interstate 15 to the northern segment of Interstate 215, the Las Vegas Beltway. Go east from U.S. 95 or west from I-15 to Aliante Parkway, then go north to the model home complex. Office hours are from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
