Couple plans retirement at Solera

Over the years, Joe and Jamie Doll had targeted Las Vegas as a retirement destination. They had intended to wait for the big move to Southern Nevada, but a phone call shortened the wait.

"It was a recruiter with a wonderful job offer for Joe here in Southern Nevada," said Jamie Doll, a technical training manager. "We had never heard from this man before, but we came up to Las Vegas, Joe interviewed and accepted the position, and it was like everything in the universe just came together for us."

After visiting several developments in the area, they decided on a home at Del Webb's age-qualified Solera at Anthem neighborhood in Henderson.

"Our Realtor told us that the last place he was going to show us was Solera at Anthem because he knew we would just love it -- and he was right," Jamie Doll said. "We toured at least 30 homes and neighborhoods and the minute we got to Solera and found our favorite model, we knew our search was over. It's an intimate community, but not too small. It's just beautiful."

The couple praised the recreational and social amenities, which include a community center measuring over 18,000 square feet, a fitness center, indoor pool, club and hobby rooms, billiard tables, computer room, as well as tennis and bocce ball courts.

"We both work out a lot and love the fitness facility," Jamie Doll said. "It has lots of wonderful equipment and we also enjoy the events held there, along with the various trips offered for residents throughout the year."

Although Solera at Anthem is now sold out, prospective home buyers can visit Del Webb's Villas at Solera neighborhood, set within the Solera at Anthem community, which is now in its final phase, with only about 20 homes still available.

Priced from the mid-$200,000s, the neighborhood offers a choice of two patio home designs measuring about 1,519 and 1,590 square feet.

Designed with easy living in mind, the neighborhood offers convenient single-story living, as well as a carefree lifestyle, including landscaping that is maintained that is handled through the homeowners association.

Residents also benefit from the use of the Solera at Anthem community center and all its amenities.

For those who may have visited Solera at Anthem in the past and liked the single-family models, very similar designs are available at Del Webb's Solera at Stallion Mountain neighborhood, which is being built along the private 18-hole Stallion Mountain Country Club in the southeastern Las Vegas Valley.

Priced from the low $230,000s, Solera at Stallion Mountain offers three floor plan designs ranging from 1,671 to 1,900 square feet. Each home offers three bedrooms and two baths, as well as a two-car garage.

Amenities within the community, which is part of the guard-gated Stallion Mountain Country Club, include a swimming pool and spa; tennis and bocce courts, and a community center with club and hobby rooms, as well as large-gathering places. For information call 457-0722 or visit delwebb.com.

To reach the Villas at Solera in the Anthem community, take Interstate 215, the Las Vegas Beltway, to Eastern Avenue, go south, past St. Rose Parkway, to Anthem Parkway and turn left. Proceed on Anthem past the fire station, turn left on Solera Moon Drive and follow the signs.

Office hours at the sales pavilions are from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily, except Wednesday when they open at noon.

For more information about the community, call 405-8015 or visit delwebb.com.

Each Del Webb home is constructed with Environments for Living building technology value for homeowners. With blown-in cellulose insulation, air-conditioned attic spaces, 15 SEER-rated air-conditioning systems, and dual-paned, vinyl-framed low-e windows, homeowners benefit from decreased internal and external contaminants; increased indoor air quality; decreased heating and cooling usage.
