PICK OF THE WEEK:

BROTHERS ITALIAN BISTRO

7575 S. Rainbow Blvd., 270-8835

Do you know what you get when you put Italian brothers together in a kitchen? You get a menu with delicious homemade sauces including marinara, pesto, Alfredo and the delicate Marsala-reduction mushroom cream sauce. Among the pasta entrees are spaghetti and meatballs, baked lasagna, veal Parmesan, chicken cacciatore, seafood linguine, rigatoni with mild sausage and Angel De Symphonia, where angel hair is covered with garlic, sun-dried tomatoes, olive oil and basil. There is a long list of items for the hand-tossed pies, including feta and ricotta, chicken, bacon, artichokes, eggplant, Italian sausage and anchovies. Several specialty pizzas are Super Mario, Hula Hula, Cave Man (meat lovers) and Philly. Popular cold sandwiches, made on a hero, are chicken BLT, ham and cheese, and tuna with avocado and provolone. Among the hot sandwiches are meatball, pastrami with cheese, chicken or steak Philly and cordon bleu (chicken, ham, Swiss). All salads (Caesar, steak, antipasto) are served with choice of homemade dressings, including ranch, thousand island, balsamic vinaigrette, Italian, blue cheese and honey mustard. Desserts include cannoli, tiramisu, cheesecake, zeppolis, red velvet cake and rice pudding. Pizzas and entrees begin at $7.99. Brothers Italian Bistro is open from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily. -- Jack Bulavsky
