Most people go to Sun City Summerlin to visit other people. Now you can go there to eat. Sun City Café has a simple and delicious menu. Breakfast is served throughout the day and features three-egg omelets with choice of potatoes and toast, huevos rancheros, oatmeal with raisins and banana, ham and eggs, corned beef hash with two eggs and the croissant sandwich (two eggs, bacon, ham or sausage and cheese). Other favorites are Freddy's Chicken and Waffle, French toast with eggs, bacon and sausage, and pancakes such as blueberry, banana walnut, sweet potato, multigrain and chocolate chip. Luncheon sandwiches include hamburgers, BLT, Ultimate Chicken Club, tuna melt with Swiss, steak on grilled hoagie and grilled cheese. There also are chicken tacos, fish and chips, chicken enchiladas, wraps (veggie, crispy chicken, turkey) and large salads such as Caesar, spinach, chef and the chicken shell with romaine, chicken, onions, tomatoes and cheese with ranch dressing. The real treat comes when you order dessert: deep-fried Oreos with vanilla ice cream. Sandwiches begin at $5 and omelets at $7.90. Sun City Café is open from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday and until 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
