Dining Pick of the Week: Teriyaki Madness

Teriyaki Madness

5705 Centennial Center Blvd., Suite 190, 702-331-7139; 725 W. Craig Road, North Las Vegas, No. 132, 702-341-8623

There is something about a sweet, thick teriyaki sauce that makes your taste buds come alive. Good teriyaki is all about that sauce, and the sauces at Teriyaki Madness are made in-house. Thus, good homemade sauce equals good teriyaki. Bowls are served with steamed rice and choice of meat, including grilled chicken, spicy chicken, marinated beef, pork, chicken katsu (deep-fried Japanese breaded chicken), orange chicken and tofu stir-fried with garlic and house teriyaki sauce. A bowl can be made into a plate, which means more meat, steamed white rice and choice of green salad or macaroni salad. Yakisoba (stir-fried noodles) entrees have green cabbage, broccoli, zucchini, carrot and onions before adding chicken, beef, pork, tofu or shrimp. Dishes can be customized by requesting extra meat or vegetables, brown instead of white rice, or asking the chef to make it extra hot and spicy. Several appetizers are egg roll (chicken, vegetable, pork), crab Rangoon, shrimp tempura, edamame and homemade chicken or pork gyoza (potstickers). Junior bowls for kids, served with rice, are chicken, orange chicken, beef or katsu. Combination plates start at $8.99 and bowls at $6.49. Teriyaki Madness is open daily from 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Centennial Center Boulevard and from 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Craig Road.
