John-Paul Kelly from Aylesbury, England, won the $1,500 buy-in pot-limit hold’em championship at the World Series of Poker Thursday night.

Kelley, became the first British citizen to win a World Series of Poker individual event gold bracelet since Ram Vaswani of Hendon, England, won the limit hold’em shootout on July 3, 2007.
Kelley, 23, defeated a field of 633 players in the event at the Rio and collected $194,045 for first place.
Kelly has played in the World Series of Poker the past three years and this was his second in-the-money finish.
The final table included Eric Seidel of Las Vegas who finished seventh and won $24,919. Seidel is an eight-time gold bracelet winner at the World Series of Poker. He is trying to snap a tie with poker legend Johnny Moss for fourth place on the all-time World Series of Poker wins list.
