GLVAR, Green Alliance to host High-Performance Home symposium Wednesday

As part of its push for a more energy-efficient Southern Nevada, the Greater Las Vegas Association of Realtors, its Green Committee and Energy Star Partners-Green Alliance are inviting real estate professionals and the public to a High-Performance Home symposium scheduled for 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday at the association’s building at 1750 E. Sahara Ave.
The event will offer insights on selling energy-efficient homes; high-performance home trends and technologies; financing and appraising these technologies; and incentive and rebate programs.
Expert speakers include Stacey Crowley, the director of the state Office of Energy and an energy adviser to Nevada Gov. Brian Sandoval, and Amanda Stinton, who oversees the green designation program and manages green initiatives for the National Association of Realtors and its Green Council.
Admission is $30 for the public, or $25 for members of GLVAR and the Green Alliance.
Thanks to a sponsorship from NV Energy, the first 100 people to register for the event will be admitted free.
