GLVAR hosts awards ceremony

The Greater Las Vegas Association of Realtors presented annual awards to some of its leading members, including Keith Lynam, who was named Realtor of the Year.

As part of its annual installation of new officers and board members held Nov. 17 at the Four Seasons Hotel on the Strip, the GLVAR presented its top annual award to Lynam, who works at Windermere Prestige Properties in Las Vegas. He is a longtime local Realtor, who has played a leading role in government affairs efforts for local, state and national Realtor associations. He was honored for serving as a leader in the real estate profession and in the community, association officials said.
Other GLVAR award winners for 2012 included:
■ Gene Nebeker Memorial Award for professionalism and service to the GLVAR and the community was given to Norma Jean Opatik of Realty Executives in Action in Pahrump.
■ Ronn Reiss Award for educational excellence and leadership was received by Aldo Martinez of Prudential American Group.
■ Frank Sala Award recognizing long-term commitment to grassroots political action and to protecting private property rights was won by Forrest Barbee of Prudential American Group.
■ GLVAR Hall of Fame inductees were Jimmy Dague of Keller Williams Southern Nevada; Joan Kuptz of ReMax Advantage; and Betty Kincaid of Keller Williams Realty Las Vegas.
Celebrating its 65th anniversary, GLVAR was founded in 1947 and provides its nearly 11,000 local members with education, training and political representation.
