Golfer putts for new Prius

One lucky golfer's putting skills recently won him a brand-new 2010 Toyota Prius from Desert Toyota and OB Sports Golf Management.

Dodge Slagle was awarded a Prius after he bested other competitors in a putting shootout Jan. 23 at Angel Park Golf Club.

The best-selling hybrid vehicle was given away in part to promote the sale of the OB Sports Golf Card, an annual program that allows golfers to play Aliante, Angel Park and the Legacy golf courses at preferred rates, in addition to other perks and special offers.

This marks the sixth time that OB Sports has given away an automobile and the third time OB has teamed up with Desert Toyota of Las Vegas.

The names of 40 cardholders were drawn from August to December 2009. Then, this January, the finalists gathered at Angel Park Golf Club to putt for the grand prize.

"I'm really a pretty good putter," Slagle said, "but I honestly didn't think I had a chance. I truly appreciate the car. Wow, what an awesome prize. Thank you."

Desert Toyota's General Manager Kalei Dudiot, Finance Manager Jason Kirste and Sales Manager John Iannuzzi personally presented Dodge with his new car. "It's so much fun to be associated with this event," Kirste said. "He just won a brand-new car -- not just a one-year lease -- a brand-new car."
