Growing family buys Pardee home

According to Brandon and April Lum, they visited Pardee Homes' Solamar during its grand opening in 2008. As their family grew, so did their interest in Solamar's floor plans.

"We were living in the Centennial Hills area already and after the birth of our second son, we began looking for a new, larger home for our family," said April Lum, a native Las Vegan. "We fell in love with the Plan Two at Solamar with its spacious, open floor plan and extended playroom."

Brandon Lum grew up in Las Vegas and works in the anatomic pathology field and April Lum is a stay-at-home mother to their sons Mason, 3, and Preston, 1. April' Lum's grandfather also lives with the couple, which was another important consideration in choosing their new home.

"We wanted a single-story floor plan that would provide space for our boys and convenience for my grandfather," April Lum said. "And it was important for us to stay in the Centennial Hills area where we really feel at home."

The Lums chose the Plan Two at Solamar, which measures 3,000 square feet with three bedrooms, 2½ baths, den, playroom and three-car garage. It can be built with an optional fourth bedroom or theater in lieu of the den or optional second master bedroom with third bath in lieu of the den and playroom. It is priced from $295,950.

"We love everything about our home from the kitchen to the cabinets to the playroom for the boys," April Lum said.

Home prices start from the $270,450 at Solamar and the one- and two-story floor plans range from 2,491 to 3,152 square feet with as many as five bedrooms.

Solamar features the builder's LivingSmart brand that offers standard and optional measures that boost energy efficiency, save water, improve indoor air quality and encourage material conservation and the use of recycled or sustainable resources in new homes.

Also adding to the value of a home at Solamar is Pardee Homes' New Standard program with granite kitchen countertops, beech cabinets and stainless steel kitchen appliances now included as standard.

Among the floor plans at Solamar is the single-story Plan One, which measures 2,491 square feet with as many as four bedrooms and 2½ baths and starts in price from $270,450. Plan Two is also a single-story plan that measures 3,000 square feet with as many as four bedrooms and three baths and starts in price from $295,950.

Two-story plans at Solamar include Plan Three, which measures 2,931 square feet with as many as five bedrooms and three baths and starts in price from $281,700. Plan Four, measuring 3,152 square feet with as many as five bedrooms and three baths, starts in price at $299,950.

Located in Centennial Hills, Solamar is close to Mt. Charleston and Lee Canyon, as well as to Silver Stone Golf Club, Mountain Ridge Park, Las Vegas' Extreme Sports Park and Centennial Hills Hospital, as well as new retail and schools at all levels.
