Help Wanted: Sen. Reid hands Republicans a gimme

This definition of "politically tone deaf" comes courtesy of Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid.

With unemployment in Southern Nevada at about 13 percent, Reid lobbies for the Henderson City Attorney’s job on behalf of son Josh Reid. And of course this week his son got the job, winning out over a more experienced candidate.

The senator should now expect critics to mount a campaign that goes something like, "Where’s my job, Harry?"

But what will Republicans do with this big chance, this basketball on the rim, this football inches from the goal line, this batting-practice fastball delivered right down the middle?

Not much, I expect.
