Texas Ave. The program is a four-lesson nutrition and horticulture series for those 50 or older that incorporates herb growing and plant care with nutrition and the use of herbs in the seasoning of recipes using commodity foods. First Folio Shakespeare exhibit: A traveling exhibit featuring an original First Folio of works by William Shakespeare is set to be on display at the Special Collections in UNLV’s Lied Library from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Fridays and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays through Sept. 29. The Folger Shakespeare Library, in association with Cincinnati Museum Center and the American Library Association, is touring a First Folio of Shakespeare in 2016 to all 50 states, Washington, D.C., and Puerto Rico. On-site registration is set to begin at 6:30 a.m. with opening ceremonies at 7:30 a.m., the 5K at 8 a.m. and the 1-mile walk at 8:15 a.m. Participants are encouraged to dress up in superhero attire. Skye Canyon Presents Skye & Stars: An Evening of Stargazing with the Las Vegas Astronomical Societyis planned from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Sept. 10 at Skye Canyon, 10111 W. Skye Canyon Drive. Picnicking and music by DJ Tonearmz is set to start at 6:30 p.m. The society plans to provide telescopes and two Mallincams, a powerful high-tech astronomy video camera, for the free event.
