Here’s why health care must be reformed
Cutting through the hype and politics of the health care reform debate isn’t easy, but Anne Geggis of the Daytona Beach News-Journal does just that by sticking to the numbers that matter most.
Geggis: “For the money spent on health care, Americans are getting rooked.”
To say the least. Americans spend the most money for their health care, and all it gets them is ranked 37th in “overall health-system performance,” according to the World Health Organization.
Another point to ponder: Of the world’s 30 largest economies, Americans spend the most per person on pharmaceuticals.
