Hyundai Elantra fits tall order for medical tech

Reno native Kate Eggington said she comes from a family that loves Hyundai. At 6-foot-3, she found just the right vehicle when she purchased a 2013 Elantra from Centennial Hyundai at 6200 Centennial Center Blvd. in the northwest valley.

“I sat in four different cars before coming here,” said Eggington, an echo tech who performs ultrasounds of the heart for several local cardiologists in Southern Nevada. “The Elantra was the only vehicle that I could fit into without hitting my head.”

The Elantra was actually a Christmas present for the young medical technician,

“My other car was a 2005 PT Cruiser that I got used, but it cost me so much money,” she said. “Everything was breaking down in it and the car had 100,000 miles on it. Every time I turned around something was going wrong.”

Eggington lives in the northwestern valley and Centennial Hyundai was very convenient.

“I came down and sat in the Sonata and the Elantra,” she said. “I took the Elantra for a test drive and loved it. I couldn’t believe how hassle-free the transaction was considering it took a half an hour at most.”

Eggington praised her sales agent, Jesse Edwards.

“Jesse didn’t pressure me at all,” she said. “He gave me a monthly payment that I could live with and gave me 72 months with zero interest. I couldn’t have asked for a better deal.”

She said the Elantra is also a very stylish-looking vehicle.

“It has awesome curves,” Eggington said. “It looks like a very expensive car, but it’s very affordable.”

She said Hyundai’s warranty is perfect for her because she travels extensively from one medical appointment to another. In the event that she needs room for medical equipment, the Elantra has “immense storage space.”

“I have already put on 1,000 miles on the car,” she said. “However, it’s very comforting to know that the Elantra includes a 10-year, 100,000 power train warranty along with a five-year, 60,000-mile bumper to bumper.

“The warranty also includes six years free roadside assistance. I could not have done any better than I did with my Elantra.”

In the first few weeks, Eggington is averaging about 34 miles to the gallon in a city with challenging traffic situations.

“I still haven’t spent $100 for gas yet, she said. “This car has everything you could want. I couldn’t be happier and I swear that my boyfriend is also going to get a Hyundai.”

Centennial Hyundai is part of a locally owned operation that includes Planet Hyundai Sahara at 7150 W. Sahara Ave. and Planet Hyundai Used Car Superstore at 7100 W. Sahara Ave.
