I did not have contact with that governor, II

As I speculated earlier in this wonderfully prescient blog, President-elect Obama's initial response to the "Pay-for-Play" scandal involving his former Senate seat was likely to come back and bite him.
Obama first said he had "no contact" with the governor of Illinois regarding his replacement. He's been backsliding on that comment ever since. I said at the time that his "no contact" position stretched the imagination. In other words, he lied.
Now comes Obama's Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel who is allegedly caught 21 times on a federal tape talking with the governor about who Obama wanted to replace him ... and when.
Ladies and gents, that is far, far from "no contact". Obama had his emissary, Rahm, make early and often contact with the governor.
Of course, now that the governor has been caught on tape trying to sell Obama's Senate seat, everyone's running for the hills and downplaying any role in this mess.
They can run, but they can't hide. These tapes are going to prove beyond a shadow of doubt that Obama was involved. He did have contact. It may not have been illegal contact, but it was very much contact. And, well, that's very embarrassing for a guy who has not even taken office yet.
As a postscript, today's news reports that Gov. Bill Richardson, D-N.M., is also under investigation for a "Pay-for-Play" deal in his home state. Richardson, as you know, has already been tapped to the inner-circle of the new Obama administration.
Do you think that the "Pay-For-Play" game was used by Obama in the selection of his new administration? I'll bet it was. For the latest on the Obama-Rahm-a deal, go to: http://www.suntimes.com/news/metro/blagojevich/1334979,CST-NWS-rahm17.article
