Immigrant family grabs ahold of The American Dream at Sagecrest

The Kozakiewicz family dreamed of owning their own home for many years while living in New York, and the dream was in their minds even before they came to the United States from Poland.

"We moved to America because we knew we could one day buy a home," said Derek Kozakiewicz, who moved to Las Vegas two years ago. Derek, Anita and 5-year-old Sandra moved into their new home at Sagecrest in the southwestern Las Vegas Valley in June.

"Many people told us Richmond American is a good builder, and it's true," Derek Kozakiewicz said. "Everyone worked together to make our dream real. We have a nice corner lot and there is plenty of room in the backyard for Sandra to play."

"We used to rent in the city but wanted to get away from the crowds," Anita Kozakiewicz said. "Sagecrest is in a quiet area, but it's still close to new schools and shopping. Compared to other builders we looked at, the quality of the home was better, but it was less expensive."

Priced from the mid-$200,000s, Sagecrest is located adjacent to the Southern Highlands master-planned community and its numerous parks and amenities. Sagecrest consists of only about 40 homes.

The Kozakiewicz family decided on the Mahogany, a three-bedroom home with 2 1/2 baths in about 1,300 square feet.

The Mahogany features a kitchen with a center island and nook. The entrance leads into a living room, and a porch enhances the exterior. The second story includes a laundry room, master bedroom suite with private bath, and two secondary bedrooms. An optional loft is available in lieu of one of the bedrooms.

After the Kozakiewiczes decided on a floor plan, they visited the Home Gallery to choose design options.

"We spent hours there," Anita Kozakiewicz said. "Everyone was so helpful and the Color Studios made it easy for us to coordinate our colors and finishes. It also gave us great ideas for decorating our home."

The Home Gallery is open to the public at 7770 South Dean Martin Drive, Suite D-10. Prospective home buyers can stop by to learn about any of Richmond American's communities throughout Las Vegas, plus preview design options and tour model kitchens.

Sales agents and information kiosks help visitors search floor plans and communities throughout the valley, while mortgage counselors answer financing questions and design consultants assist with finishing touches.

Sagecrest offers two-story homes from the Cherry Lane Collection, featuring three to four bedrooms and 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 baths in about 1,300 to 1,750 square feet.

The Lapin is the largest design, priced from the $290,000s. Featuring four bedrooms and 2 1/2 baths in about 1,750 square feet, the Lapin offers options such as a bonus room or a second master bedroom suite with full bath. The main floor features an open layout that includes a great room with media niche, island kitchen and dining room.

Priced from the $270,000s is the Ranier, a four-bedroom home offering 2 1/2 baths in about 1,550 square feet. The entry features high ceilings and leads into a great room with adjacent dining room and a kitchen with breakfast bar.

Priced from the $260,000s, the Lambert features three bedrooms and 2 1/2 baths in about 1,450 square feet. This plan offers an open layout with a great room, dining room and gourmet kitchen with nook.

To visit Sagecrest, take Interstate 15 to the Blue Diamond Road exit and go west. Turn left on Jones Boulevard, right on Levi Avenue and left on Torrey Pines Drive. For more information, call the sales center at 644-9437. The model homes and sales center are open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., except Friday when they open at noon.

Richmond American is building more than 40 new home communities in the Las Vegas valley with more on the way. For more information, call 877-420-1868 or visit RichmondAmerican.com.
