KB Home offers holiday family portraits today, Sunday

KB Home is celebrating the opening of its model homes at its Kingwood Crest neighborhood in the master-planned community of Summerlin.

Home shoppers are invited to tour the decorated model home complex during the event this weekend. Refreshments will be served and guests can enter to win prizes including movie tickets and gift cards today and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Additionally, KB Home is offering holiday portraits during its Friends and Family Portrait Weekend. A professional photographer will be on hand at Kingwood Crest during the event today from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Guests are invited receive a holiday portrait compliments of KB Home. All are welcome to attend and take a formal family portrait.

"As the final collection of homes available in The Vistas village area of Summerlin, I think we've saved the best for last," said Jim Widner, regional president of KB Home Nevada. "Priced from the mid-$200,000s, homes at Kingwood Crest are Energy Plus qualified and feature superior craftsmanship and architectural detail."

Home shoppers at Kingwood Crest have their choice of five floor plans ranging from 1,704 to 2,712 square feet.

Plans include as many as five bedrooms, three baths and two-car garages.

The homes are designed to be open and flexible, with great rooms located towards the back of the home adjacent to the kitchen. In some plans, a traditional den space can be converted into an additional bedroom or utilized as a home office, study or media room. Select plans also allow for dual master suites or downstairs bedrooms.

Energy efficiency comes standard in KB homes at Kingwood Crest, with each new home earning both the EPA's Energy Star as well as NV Energy's Energy Plus certification. Features like programmable thermostats, radiant barrier roof lining, low-e windows and efficient heating and cooling systems all help keep household utility bills low. A new Energy Star qualified KB home is up to 45 percent more efficient than a home built as recently as the 1990s and an Energy Plus certified home is 15 percent more efficient than that according to Widner.

After a buyer selects the energy-efficient home design they want, they set an appointment with a personal design consultant at the KB Home Studio, a retail-like showroom where they can see and touch the wide variety of personalizing options available for their new home.

As a part of the master-planned community of Summerlin, residents of Kingwood Crest have access to amenities.

Within The Vistas village lies a nearly 25-acre park with playgrounds, baseball fields, tennis and basketball courts. The neighborhood is also home to miles of walking trails, Summerlin's first football field and Linda Givens Elementary School. Residents also have access to Interstate-215 and shopping, dining and entertainment options.

KB Home's Kingwood Crest is located at 944 Baronet Drive in Summerlin. To visit the neighborhood this weekend during the model home opening and free Friends and Family Portrait event from I-215 South, exit at Charleston Boulevard and head west. Turn right onto Vista Center, right at Park Vista Drive, right on Castleton Avenue and take an immediate right to the sales center on your left.

Photos are available on a first-come, first-served basis; no purchase is necessary.
