Las Vegas architecture firm vows to trim fossil fuel use

SH Architecture of Las Vegas recently announced it has joined in the Architecture2030 Challenge, a nationwide event aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions caused by the burning of fossil fuels in buildings.

The challenge asks the global architecture and building community to adopt strict targets to reduce as quickly as possible, and eliminate by 2030, the use of all fossil fuel, and greenhouse gas emissions in all building designs.

"This adds immense value to all our designs and to the services we provide our clients," SH Architecture Vice President Eric Roberts said. "The great story we will get to tell our children is how we were able to change building paradigm for the better while adding measurable value to our clients."

SH Architecture, a contemporary design firm, became the first organization in Nevada to accept the 2030Challenge, Roberts said.

John Anderson, SH Architecture's chief executive officer, issued a challenge to other Southern Nevadans to do their part in protecting the environment.

"We encourage everyone in the Las Vegas community to step up and accept the challenge. This should really be the status quo," Anderson said.
