Lennar continues ‘Hush, Hush’ Secret Sale event

Lennar's "Hush, Hush" Secret Sale is no longer a secret to more than 20 families that became homeowners last week.

The builder has extended the sales event through this weekend. It includes new incentives, price reductions and special financing options through Lennar's in-house lender, Universal American Mortgage Co.

"This amazing sale couldn't be kept secret for long," said Jamie Lazar, new-home consultant. "We started with 75 homes and already 20 families have jumped on this opportunity, making this the most successful sale of the year."

According to Lazar, the below-market interest rates had a lot to do with the success of the sale.

He said Universal American Mortgage is currently offering an interest rate of 3.75 percent (4.146 percent APR).

Lazar added that Lennar is also locking in this interest rate through November.

He said locks are convenient to homebuyers who may need an extra month or two to get out of their current living situation, or may need to wait to close escrow on their new home.

Plus during this event, "we will be covering the cost of the interest rate lock as well as all closing costs -- making it easier than ever to buy your new home," said Lazar.

New for this week is another financing option. Homebuyers will be able to choose interests rates of 1.875 percent in year one, 2.875 percent in year two and a 3.875 percent (4.622 percent APR) for the rest of their 30-year loan, he said.

"Another huge bonus, these homes are all ready to move in, so as soon as you close on your home you can start enjoying it," Lazar said.

In addition the quick move-in homes are part of the builder's "Everything's Included" program and come with upgraded features. The homes come with extra tall 42-inch maple cabinetry and granite-slab kitchen countertops.

Also included in the price of the home are high-tech green features that save homeowners money on their energy bills. These include dual-flush toilets, low-energy dual-pane vinyl windows and radiant-barrier roof sheeting.

In addition, many homes come with Lennar's new home-automation system by Schlage, which allows homeowners to open and close doors and control other home functions from their smartphones.
