Lexus exec: CT puts fun back into driving

Getting more than 40 miles to the gallon, the Lexus CT definitely rises to the challenge of a hybrid, said Bill Garness, general sales manager of Lexus of Las Vegas. But, with its sleek and elegant style, it corners and hugs the road with precision .

“The CT is a hybrid but doesn’t look like a hybrid,” Garness said. “Most hybrids have boring designs. The CT is sexy and fun to drive. It’s an amazing sporty ride that gets even better gas mileage.”

Garness said he is excited about the CT, which comes in three models: the CT200h, CT200h F Sport and the CT200h F Sport with leather. Lexus of Las Vegas currently has 18 models to choose from at its Sahara Avenue location.

He also touts the vehicle’s four-wheel-assisted disc brakes, which are capable of stopping on a dime, and the six-speaker audio sound system.

Garness encourages drivers who are environmentally conscious, but still enjoy the fun of driving a sports car, to drop by and test drive a CT.

He said Lexus is offering a lease package of $299, plus tax, per month with a $999 down payment, plus dealer fees and taxes for the CT200h.

“Lexus has never done this before,” Garness said. “This is a 10,000-mile, 27-month lease package where we can get you into a hybrid vehicle that doesn’t anywhere look, feel or handle like a hybrid.”

Garness said the CT offers some of the most innovative thinking in the industry such as carpeting composed of 30 percent plant-based sources, the world’s first automotive speakers constructed with sustainable bamboo charcoal-based resin and a design that allows 90 percent of the vehicle to be fully recycled.

Additionally, the position and angle of the driver’s seat, steering wheel and pedals are precisely calculated to place the driver closer to the center of gravity, he said.
