McNaught announces run for District 12 state senate seat

Businessman Patrick McNaught of Henderson said Tuesday he will run for the vacant state senate seat in District 12, formerly held by Warren Hardy, R-Las Vegas. Hardy resigned in June.

McNaught, a Republican, says, "I’ve sat back long enough, wondering if Carson City will change its ways ... only to come to the conclusion that it is impossible if we keep sending the same people there to run our government. We can no longer count on the same politicians when it comes to fixing our broken state.”

McNaught graduated high school in Cedar City, Utah and attended University of Nevada, Las Vegas.

His most recent private sector job was in commercial real estate.

Here's a copy of the press release he sent today. Here's an outline of District 12.
