MOVIES: Green go the movies … for Earth Day

Earth Day isn't until April 22 — when an appropriately titled Disney Nature documentary, "Earth" — arrives in theaters.
The cinematic celebration starts this weekend, however, when Brenden Theatres at the Palms hosts its Earth Week Film Festival, featuring 7 p.m. screenings Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Friday's featured title: "Gashole," a 2008  documentary about the history of oil prices — and the future of alternative fuels. Peter Gallagher narrates; talking heads range from Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.) to ex-president George W. Bush.
Saturday's title: "Food Inc." (2008), which focuses on America's corporate food industry, featuring "Fast Food Nation" author Eric Schlosser.
Rounding out the festival on Sunday: "Everything's Cool" (2007), which explores the politics of global warning.
