MOVIES: Marvel-ous Stan Lee celebrates “Iron Man 2” in Las Vegas
May 5, 2010 - 2:46 pm
"Iron Man" co-creator Stan Lee has a fleeting cameo in "Iron Man 2," playing a TV interviewer who has been a tabloid fixture lately.
But Lee's the star of the show at an "Iron Man 2" salute at the Palms Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
Thursday night's "Iron Man 2" launch party runs from 10:30 p.m. to midnight at the Palms' Moon nightclub. (General admission charges apply.)
At 7:30 p.m. Friday, Lee becomes the latest luminary to receive a Brenden Celebrity Star in the lobby of the Brenden Theatres at the Palms. (Brenden Theatres owner Johnny Brenden is the grandson of Ted Mann, who used to run Hollywood's legendary Chinese theater, so this Vegas-flavored variation on the Hollywood Walk of Fame continues a family tradition.)
The ceremony is free and open to the public, preceded by red carpet arrivals at 6 p.m.
The co-creator of "Iron Man" — along with "Spider-Man," "Fantastic Four," "X-Men," "The Incredible Hulk" and other comic book legends — also is expected to welcome moviegoers to select "Iron Man 2" showings Friday and Saturday at Brenden Theatres.
