Obama skips his intelligence briefings

In the aftermath of four Americans, including our ambassador, being hunted down and assassinated in Libya, it is more than a little shocking to find that President Obama doesn't even attend half of his daily intelligence meetings.

What is that all about?

The president's men have rushed to defend the president saying that he reads the briefing book, whether he's at the meeting or not. As if we're supposed to be somehow comforted by that.

I guess that's what passes for hope in this administration -- hoping the president reads his daily national security threat briefing.

The Marc A. Thiessen in the Washington Post writes, "During his first 1,225 days in office, Obama attended his PDB just 536 times — or 43.8 percent of the time. During 2011 and the first half of 2012, his attendance became even less frequent — falling to just over 38 percent. By contrast, Obama’s predecessor, George W. Bush almost never missed his daily intelligence meeting."

I think Clint Eastwood was right when he said, essentially, that President Obama is an empty chair president.

If you can't be bothered to attend even half your national security briefings, can't fix the economy and have an ambassador assassinated on your watch, well maybe you are not up for the job.

... and we gotta let you go.

PS -- To get a fix on how intellectually limber the liberal apologists for Obama have to be to twist the truth to make Obama look half-way competent, go to Rachel Maddow's blog. A pathetic attempt to ignore what should be a startling revelation for all in the media.
