Obama under fire for ‘latte salute’ stunt

NEW YORK — President Obama’s etiquette is under fire again after the president saluted two Marines standing guard outside his plane when it landed in New York for this year’s UN General Assembly, but — he saluted the servicemen with one hand and held a coffee in the other.

The incident is catching fire on social media after the White House posted the video to Instagram. It was quickly referred to as the “latte salute.”

Many are calling Obama’s actions disrespectful.

“This is what’s wrong with our country!! People who want to believe you can be too “busy” to be respectful!!! Wake up people…..if the ‘President’ won’t….you will believe you don’t have to either!!,” Instagram user Leslie Malloy wrote in response.

User instaflatch responded with, “You guys have too much time on your hands.”
