In what has become a June tradition, Pardee Homes recently awarded scholarships to five Southern Nevada high school seniors as part of the builder’s Community Building Scholarship Program through The Public Education Foundation.
The 2013 scholarship recipients were Griffin Andrews of Coronado High School, Dave Boothe of Mojave High School, Tyler Gottschalk and Shasta Percival of Advanced Technologies Academy and William Zheng of Southwest Career and Technologies Academy. Each received a $1,500 scholarship, which can be renewed annually if they maintain high grades and a full-course schedule each semester.
All of the recipients plan to attend University of Nevada, Las Vegas with majors ranging from architecture to engineering.
“We are tremendously proud to continue to offer scholarships to local students, which is a reflection of Pardee’s strong dedication to the Southern Nevada community where our legacy extends more than six decades,” said Dan Hale, vice president of community development for Pardee Homes.
For more than a decade, the Pardee Community Building Scholarship has supported seniors who demonstrate an interest in homebuilding and community development and plan to attend an accredited college or university in Nevada.
Since beginning its scholarship with The Public Education Foundation, Pardee has awarded more than $350,000 to more than 80 Clark County students.
