Planet Nissan’s top two sales consultants lead dealership to high ranking in November
Planet Nissan maintained its high production in November, and a pair of sales consultants are receiving credit for leading the way to the store being ranked No. 1 in the Western region for the 13th straight month.
Veteran Pablo De La Cueva and Jim Del Grosso each recorded 20½ sales during the month of November to help propel the dealership to the second best-selling Nissan store in the country.
"I have been in the car business since 2002," said De La Cueva, a 41-year-old native of Mexico City. "I came to Planet Nissan only three months ago after reviewing all the dealers in Las Vegas. Planet Nissan had the most satisfied customers, and that's why I picked this one."
De La Cueva moved to Las Vegas from San Diego seeking a better life -- and he hasn't looked back since arriving in Southern Nevada in September.
"Even during a bad economy, Las Vegas is a wonderful place to live," De La Cueva said. "The opportunity for housing is excellent, whereas that wasn't the case in San Diego."
De La Cueva has been selling Nissan since entering the business.
"I have owned Nissans since 1986," De La Cueva said. "A Nissan won't let you down no matter how many miles you drive it. The car is a very dependable vehicle. The Nissan is reliable, and I never worry about selling a Nissan to a customer."
Del Grosso, 50, formerly worked in the flooring business as a contractor.
"I decided to enter the business because it's in my heart," said Del Grosso, who remodeled the Planet Nissan business development room when I was still in the flooring business last May," said Del Grosso, who has lived in Las Vegas since 1980. "I am an admitted automobile enthusiast anyway, and when the construction business went into a serious decline, I decided to make the change. I came to Planet Nissan because of the dealership's General Manager Sam Amer. My family and I purchased cars here before, and I was very aware of how the store is operated. It's an upbeat store and the Nissan product speaks for itself."
Del Grosso lauds the Nissan product. In fact, he put his daughter and son into Nissan Sentra models in the last six months. His son, Matthew, works as a lot porter at Planet Nissan.
Amer praised both Del Grosso and De La Cueva.
"Jim and Pablo are great examples of hard-working and dedicated sales consultants," Amer said. "This isn't an easy business, but it can be very rewarding when you work as hard as these two do."
Opened at 5850 Centennial Center Blvd. in 2003, the dealership sold more than 2,500 new vehicles through October to become the top new-car dealership in Nevada, according to figures based on the Las Vegas Retail Delivery Report.
