Reid on March jobless rate: ‘Another sign our economy is recovering’
Sen. Harry Reid, D-Nev., on the news that Nevada's unemployment rate in March dropped to 13.2 percent, said this in a statement from Hong Kong, where he is on a U.S. Senate trip:
"Today's news that Nevada's unemployment rate is continuing to decrease is another sign that our state's economy is on the road to recovery. It's a clear indication that we must continue to keep our eye on the ball and never stop pursuing the policies that we know are putting Nevadans back to work. That's one of the reasons I'm traveling throughout China this week -- to look for additional renewable energy opportunities that can create good paying jobs in Nevada. With abundant natural resources like solar, wind and geothermal energy, Nevada is the ideal location for clean energy deployment and I will never stop working to bring these new industries and investments to the Silver State. There is much more work to be done, but by working together we can ensure that every Nevadan looking for work can find it."
