Reid on November jobless: “Cannot let up our efforts to strengthen economy”

Sen. Harry Reid, D-Nev., issued the following statement on Nevada's unemployment rate rising to 14.3 percent in November.

"Today's news sends a clear message that we cannot let up on our efforts to strengthen our state's economy by putting Nevadans back to work and providing relief to struggling families.  That is why I led the Senate to pass a tax relief package that cuts taxes for Nevada's middle-class and small businesses, extends unemployment insurance for 13 months, protects the state sales tax deduction and creates more than 2,500 Nevada jobs by investing in the clean energy industry.  Clearly, there is more work ahead of us, but if we continue working together we can ensure that every Nevadan who wants a job has one."
