Residents ‘Hop Into Spring’ at Rhodes Ranch R-Club rec center
April 5, 2008 - 9:00 pm
Several hundred Rhodes Ranch residents filled the R-Club outdoor courtyard March 22 for the annual Hop Into Spring event. Festivities got under way with the arrival of the Spring Bunny, who made a grand entrance down the slide from the nearby Fun Zone.
As the bunny hopped across the courtyard toward the cheering crowd, children lined up for their chance to greet him, pose for pictures and accept treats.
Other activities included a water balloon toss, egg walk competition, face and hand painting and a craft table where participants created their own bunny masks.
This year's egg hunt included three separate age groups which allowed all of the children an opportunity to find eggs and enjoy collecting them.
"Hop Into Spring continues to be a big hit with the Rhodes Ranch residents and this year's event was probably the largest turnout we've had so far," said Ryan Soucie, director of sales for developer Rhodes Homes. "We would like to thank the wonderful community volunteers who plan and put together this entire event for the residents of this community."
The event was organized by the Rhodes Ranch Community Events Committee with members of the Women's Club helping as well. Volunteers sold hot dogs, chips, soda and water during the event with all of the proceeds going to charitable programs supported by Rhodes Ranch's Women's Club.
