Residents of Mountain Falls swim and cool off at aquatic center

A private aquatic center is the hub of activity at the 1,050-acre Mountain Falls community in Pahrump, where residents can be found each weekend. The facility is one of several resort-style amenities available for resident use at the Mountain Falls master-planned community, located about 45 miles west of Las Vegas off of Highway 160.

"The aquatic center is a place where Mountain Falls residents can come to cool down and to relax. We have an adult pool and spa for people 18 years and older and a separate family pool and a splash pad area, plus a sun deck. The splash pad feature is unique to Pahrump and it is very popular among families," Josh Gaston, resident facility manager, said.

"On the weekends we have been averaging 150 to 175 people per day in the pool area alone."

The outdoor aquatic center provides golf course and mountain views and is adjacent to a residents' facility. Access to both is included with the purchase of a home in Mountain Falls.

"The Mountain Falls aquatic center and residents' facility are places where residents can relax and enjoy themselves. We offer them a place to fulfill their recreational and leisure needs with the pools, a private fitness center and multipurpose room. We also have a lounge where residents can gather around a pool table, game table or big-screen TV," Gaston said.

"It is a beautiful facility where our residents can come to relax, exercise and have fun. ... One of the reasons why people have purchased a home in Mountain Falls is because of the availability of these facilities."

The public 18-hole Mountain Falls Golf Club offers annual, six-month, three-month and monthly golf passes to residents at a discounted rate, which include golf cart use and greens fees. Golf passes to nonresidents and daily greens fees are also available.

"We are offering special summer daily greens fees that include the use of a golf cart," Neil Pierce, director of golf, said. "Residents and visitors alike can conveniently reserve tee times by telephone or online and enjoy a round of golf in the beautiful Mountain Falls community."

William Lyon Homes is the developer of the master-planned community and is constructing three of its neighborhoods.

William Lyon Homes' Bella Sera, Cascata Ancora and Tramonto neighborhoods feature single-story homes ranging from 1,157 to 2,897 square feet and priced from the mid-$100,000s. They are open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily, except Monday when models open at noon.

Also under construction is Classic Homes' Paradiso neighborhood, which offers five single- and two-story floor plans measuring with up to 4,300 square feet. Office hours at Paradiso vary.

To visit from Las Vegas, travel about 45 miles west on Highway 160 (Blue Diamond Road) past Interstate 15. Before reaching Pahrump, turn left on Manse Road. Proceed to Hafen Ranch Road, turn right and follow the signs.
