Rory Reid to attend Clinton summit

The polling leader for Democrats in the race for governor of Nevada is heading to New York to discuss alternative energy at a summit hosted by former President Bill Clinton.

Clark County Commissioner Rory Reid on Monday announced plans to attend the Clinton Global Initiative annual meeting in New York, which includes participation of business, scientific and political leaders from around the world.

"My goal is to gather the best ideas and new creative thinking that I can bring to bear on the challenges in Nevada,” Reid said in a written statement.

The event is Tuesday through Friday.
