Shea Homes at Ardiente offers green packages, move-in homes

According to Ryan Smith, sales manager, going green means a substantial reduction in monthly living expenses at Ardiente, an age-qualified master-planned community by Shea Homes in North Las Vegas. All six home designs for sale are Shea Green Certified, which means they exceed the most rigorous industry standards for energy-efficiency, resource conservation and green construction.

"A few years ago when most builders were wondering how to make their homes more affordable to buy, Shea Homes also asked, 'How can we make our home more affordable to live in?,'" Smith said. "The result is the Shea Green Certified program. We've worked hard to make green living easy and affordable."

Shea offers three packages of Shea Green Certified features: Complete, Plus and Ultra

According to Smith, many green features are included at no extra charge under the Complete package. Shea Green Certified homes with the Complete package offer Anderson dual pane windows, energy-efficient HVAC, cellulose insulation and Energy Star appliances and low-flow fixtures. Low volatile organic compound paints and adhesives and fresh air ventilation provide better, healthier air quality. Sustainable forest products (used whenever possible) and an aggressive recycling program help conserve resources.

Smith said the potential for energy savings is as much as 30 percent and carbon footprint reduction of up to 48 percent. Environments for Living homes offer written performance guarantees on heating and cooling energy use.

"Our Complete package makes these homes less costly to operate, healthier to live in and more eco-friendly," Smith said. "These benefits can be further improved with our two optional green packages: Plus and Ultra."

Shea Green Certified Plus package, in addition to the features offered in the Complete package, includes solar-powered attic fan to reduce temperatures in the hottest part of the home, high-efficiency Jenn-Air kitchen appliances, electric vehicle charging station, a smart sprinkler system that can save as much as 80 percent on exterior water usage.

Ardiente's most comprehensive green package, Shea Green Certified Ultra, adds on a solar integrated roof tile system for generating electricity.

In addition to the new plans, today through Aug. 15, Shea Homes Trilogy is offering a Buyer's Choice Sale with financial incentives on a limited number of move-in ready homes at Ardiente. The choices include $10,000 off purchase price only, or $5,000 off purchase price and $5,000 towards closing costs or six months no payments or interest. Shea Homes Trilogy is offering a 4 percent commission to Realtors and brokers for the Buyer's Choice Sale promotion.

The six Shea Homes designs at Ardiente range from 1,359 to 1,928 square fee and are priced from the mid-$100,000s.

Ardiente's Model Gallery is open daily at 5840 Summit Greens St. in North Las Vegas. For more information, visit sheaardiente.com or call 224-8200.
