Town Hall meeting set this Thursday

Residents are invited to attend a town hall meeting set to be hosted by Clark County Commission Chair Susan Brager and Las Vegas City Councilman Steve Wolfson. The meeting is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Desert Breeze Community Center, 8275 Spring Mountain Road.

The commissioner and councilman will be joined by staff members from several city and county departments, including Code Enforcement, Social Services and University Medical Center. Representatives from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department are also expected to attend. The meeting will focus on issues affecting the residents of the nearby Lakes and Peccole Ranch communities. However, any resident may attend to discuss issues and services provided by the city or county.

While Wolfson has long represented this area, recent redistricting of the county commission boundaries has moved these communities into County Commission District F, which is represented by Brager.

The redistricting process is undertaken every 10 years following the national census in order to comply with state law, which requires commission districts be nearly equal in population. A map is posted on the county website, clarkcountynv.gov, so residents can see in which district they now reside.
