1. Galentine's Day: Hosted by the femme fatale Kayla from 98.5 KLUC and Heather Collins from Mix 94.1, the event is set from 6:30 to 10 p.m. Feb. 12 at Tivoli Village, 440 S. Las Vegas Mayor's Cup International Showcase: The stay-and-play tournament for teams of boys and girls U12-U19 is planned for Feb. 12-15 at the Bettye Wilson Soccer Complex, Kellogg-Zaher Sports Complex and Ed Fountain Park, among other venues. Dam Short Film Festival: The 12th annual Dam Short Film Festival is planned through Feb. 13 at Boulder Theatre, 1225 Arizona St., in Boulder City. Kickin' it for Cartwheel: The kickball tournament hosted by the Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation is planned at 8 a.m. Feb. 20 at the Arroyo Grande Sports Complex, 298 N. Arroyo Grande Blvd. Groups, companies and individuals 15 or older can register teams of between 10 and 12 people to compete, with registration costing $250 and $300, respectively, due by Feb. 15. Competitors will receive a Kickin' it for Cartwheel T-shirt, and awards will be given for first, second and third place, with a special award for the most creative team uniform. Pahrump Hot Air Balloon Festival: The annual event is set for noon Feb. 26 and 8 a.m. Feb. 27 and 28 at Petrack Park, 150 state Route 160, in Pahrump, about 60 miles west of Las Vegas. The family-friendly festival is set to bring together more than 20 hot air balloon pilots from the western states, music, entertainment, food, arts and crafts, and more.
