BUSINESS NETWORK MIXER SET FOR JUNE 4
The Large Vision Business Network plans to host its next mixer from 6 to 9 p.m. June 4 at the Suncoast, 9090 Alta Drive. The planned theme is Beauty/Fitness/Health Affair Expo. It will include more than 50 area businesses showcasing their products and services. The Chefs Corner will serve bites of international flavors.

BEREAVEMENT GROUP TO MEET
AT TEMPLE BETH SHOLOM
A bereavement group plans to meet at 10:30 a.m. every other Wednesday in the social hall of Temple Beth Sholom, 10700 Havenwood Lane. The next meeting is set for June 5. Meetings are usually scheduled on alternating Wednesdays, but dates can change due to holidays. The purpose is to help widows and widowers understand the process of grieving and prepare for lifestyle changes.

TEMPLE BETH SHOLOM ACTIVE ADULTS GROUP TO VISIT MOB MUSEUM
The Temple Beth Sholom Active Adults group plans to visit the National Museum of Organized Crime & Law Enforcement, the Mob Museum, 300 Stewart Ave., at
1:30 p.m. June 18.
Former Mayor Oscar Goodman is scheduled to attend. The museum has three floors of exhibits, and attendees can listen to actual FBI surveillance tapes and learn about an FBI weapons training seminar.

TORINO FOUNDATION SIGNING UP CHILDREN AND ADULTS FOR FREE CAMP
The nonprofit Torino Foundation invites hundreds of children with medical issues each summer to its ranch for summer camp through specialized programs. The foundation now plans to offer camp experiences to teens and adults who were not able to have the chance in their youth. Every camp is residential, coed and offered at no cost to the participants.
Sessions are specialized, such as for children with a primary diagnosis of autism, or blind or with heart disease. Camps are set to begin June 20.

Elements Therapeutic Massage is slated to open this month at 1215 S. Fort Apache Road, on the southwest corner of Charleston Boulevard. The owner is Sue Nelson, who comes from a 23-year career in real estate.

MDA SEEKS VOLUNTEERS FOR AUGUST CAMP
The Muscular Dystrophy Association is looking for volunteer counselors and medical professionals to care for children with muscular dystrophy and related diseases at the Southern Nevada MDA Summer Camp, slated for Aug. 4-10 at Apple Canyon Center in Mountain Center, Calif. Volunteer counselors must be at least 16. Campers’ ages range from 6 to 17. Each counselor is a companion to an MDA camper, helping them with camp activities and day-to-day activities (eating, bathing and dressing).
The association also is seeking physicians, nurses, emergency medical technicians, physical therapists and other medical professionals to volunteer for the camp’s medical staff. For more information, contact the local MDA office by visiting mda.org/locate.
CAMP THAT REUNITES SIBLINGS
IN FOSTER CARE SEEKS DONATIONS
Camp To Belong Nevada, which reunites siblings who are apart due to foster care, needs donations for its summer camp program. More than 80 children are expected to attend starting June 16.
A $115 donation provides transportation to and from camp for one child. A $285 donation covers a week’s lodging for one child. A donation of $400 sponsors a child for the entire week’s activities, including camper gifts, family meals, activity costs, clinical support and transportation.
Camper supplies are also needed, such as sleeping bags, water bottles and flashlights. Some other items needed include: 200 individual packages of cookies; cans of Gatorade powder; 10 cases of Diet Coke; individual bags of trail mix; Solo cups; 100 packages of fun-size M&Ms; and 60 notebooks for journaling.

CENTURYLINK TO HOST FOOD DRIVE FOR THREE SQUARE
CenturyLink plans to host its annual Feed the Children Backpack Buddies Food Drive through June 7 to benefit Three Square food bank’s Backpack for Kids program.
