TOWN ADVISORY BOARDS TO MEET
The Winchester Town Advisory Board is scheduled to meet at 6 p.m. Jan. 14 at the Winchester Cultural Center, 3130 McLeod Drive.
The Paradise Town Advisory Board is scheduled to meet at 7 p.m. Jan. 14 at the Paradise Recreation and Community Services Center, 4775 McLeod Drive.
The Whitney Town Advisory Board is scheduled to meet at 6 p.m. Jan. 2 at the Whitney Recreation Center, 5712 Missouri Ave.
The Sunrise Manor Town Advisory Board is scheduled to meet at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 2 at the Hollywood Recreation and Community Services Center, 1650 S. Hollywood Blvd.
ST. JUDE’S RANCH ACCEPTING CARDS FOR RECYCLING PROGRAM
St. Jude’s Ranch for Children, 100 St. Jude’s St. in Boulder City, is accepting all-occasion greeting cards year-round for its Recycled Card Program.
Teens on the Ranch use donated greeting cards and cut out the front to create new ones, which they sell at the charity’s gift store and online.
The money raised through the program goes toward helping the charity pay for the financial needs of the youths. St. Jude’s has locations in Las Vegas at 5005 McLeod Drive, No. 200, and at 2685 Rainbow Blvd., No. 112.

BLOOD DRIVE PLANNED AT WHITNEY LIBRARY
The Whitney Library, 5175 E. Tropicana Ave., is scheduled to host a holiday blood drive with United Blood Services from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 21.

TRAIL NEAR RUBY CREEK DRIVE AT SLOAN LANE PARTIALLY CLOSED
A section of trail behind Ruby Creek Drive at Sloan Lane is closed to accommodate construction for the Las Vegas Wash Project.
The project is scheduled to provide 4 miles of flood control improvements to the Las Vegas and Flamingo washes through residential neighborhoods and commercial developments.
The closure is expected to last through July.
