Think the Tea Party will get a fair shake from this reporter?
Local alleged reporter Steve Friess is on a charter bus headed to Searchlight and predicting (before he gets there!) that the Searchlight Tea Party will not attract much of a crowd.
Friess calls Tea Partiers "tea baggers" and just Twittered that some fat guy is eating donuts on the partly filled bus he is on. Friess also wrote: "Waiting for the ceremonial singing of 'throw the Jew down the well' but looks like I may have to start it myself."
Amazing, given Friess sometimes freelances for AOL and the New York Times. Don't know who he's working for on this gig, but given those Tweets, I wouldn't expect the Tea Party will be getting much of a fair shake from this writer.
Postscript -- In fairness and completeness, here's Steve Friess' report on AOL. He didn't resort to calling participants "tea baggers" as he had in the past. No further mention of how many people he asked to sing 'throw the Jew down the well' before he gave up and reported:
"Leaders of the Tea Party effort went to great pains to emphasize from the podium how calm and peaceful the event was ..."
