UNLV hosting free lecture series before presidential debates
September 8, 2016 - 12:30 am
UNLV is beginning two free lecture series this week, ahead of the upcoming U.S. presidential candidate debates — including the final Oct. 19 face-to-face between Democrat Hillary Clinton and Republican Donald Trump at the university.
The public is invited to the remaining eight talks.
A 1 p.m. Thursday lecture by David Zarefsky, professor emeritus of the Northwestern University School of Communication, will be part of the Presidential Debate Lecture Series.
It will focus on the contrast in the debates in 2012 between Barack Obama and Mitt Romney.
The first lecture was Wednesday.
UNLV Boyd School of Law Professor Ian Chamberlin Bartrum focused on late U.S. Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia and the judicial philosophy of constitutional originalism.
