Veterans show appreciation for Chapman Dodge support

U.S. Air Force Lt. Col. David Rawlins recently visited Chapman Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram on Boulder Highway and Sahara Avenue, where the dealership has donated its offices and land to sustain a program to support the local veteran community.
"I came to show our appreciation to the Chapman Automotive Group for their continuing support of this important program run through the American Legion," Rawlins said. "The program raises funds for local veterans' services through donations and it is critical to supporting military families."
The American Legion's motorcycle safety program, The Cycle School, is approved by the Department of Public Safety and the Motorcycle Safety Foundation. All profits, after expenses, are donated to fund services of the American Legion that aid local veterans and their families. After registrants pass the program, they qualify to receive their motorcycle license at the DMV.
The program offers a basic course for new riders, as well as an advanced course for those who want to improve their motorcycle driving skills. People who take classes have a much lower risk of being involved in a motorcycle accident, as it teaches defensive driving and street strategies.
"Our Chapman Automotive Group has been a long-time supporter of the community's servicemen, servicewomen and military programs," said General Manager Don Hamrick. "Whether through offering special discounts, hiring recently returned soldiers or helping to sponsor programs to honor veterans, Chapman aims to express thanks to our nation's soldiers."
Recently, Chapman Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram began offering fleet pricing to all members of the American Legion and their families. These prices are equal to the lowest prices offered to businesses that make large volume purchases of vehicles. For more information, contact Ricky "Cowboy" Maples at 457-1061.
Chapman also co-sponsors the American Legion radio show, "The Forgotten Promise," which airs on KXNT AM-840 and FM-100.5.
"Chapman is what a business should be when it comes to supporting our military," said Victor "Doc" Moss, past commander of American Legion Post 149. "The American Legion is grateful for our partnerships with them. You couldn't ask for more from a company."
