Washingtonian chooses Sagecrest

Stephen Schmidt recently moved to Las Vegas from Seattle, but he said he was no stranger to the area.
"Relocating here brought me closer to several family members," he said. "Since I visited Las Vegas so often, I was familiar with the area and knew Richmond American by name. My parents and aunt and uncle also recommended them. Richmond American offers a great combination of features and value, and their Web site made it easy for me to find the home I wanted."
Schmidt chose a home at Sagecrest in southwestern Las Vegas. The neighborhood is composed of 40 homes.
"I was looking for a smaller, quieter community," Schmidt said. "Here, you get to know so many of your neighbors and have conversations with them. Everyone is so friendly and happy to be here. I also like that the neighborhood is close to Southern Highlands without having to pay the fees."
Schmidt selected the Ranier floor plan, a four-bedroom home and 21/2 baths in 1,550 square feet.
"The size and the features are perfect," he said. "I especially like the great room feel. For the size of the home I wanted, Richmond American gave me more selection, value and features."
Priced from the $230,000s, the Ranier features a distinctive entry with volume ceilings.
The main floor includes a great room, dining room, kitchen with breakfast bar, laundry room and powder room.
Upstairs, the home has a master bedroom suite with a private bath and walk-in closet, three secondary bedrooms and a bath. One of the secondary bedrooms has a walk-in closet, and another bedroom offers an optional loft.
"I travel a lot for work, and everyone at Richmond American was so willing to work around my schedule," Schmidt said. "Mortgage was able to assist me quickly and smoothly. My sales associate, Kim Knowlton, was unbelievable. She was able to answer my questions and point out details I hadn't thought of. My superintendent, Jason McKissack, responded immediately to any minor concerns I had. I didn't even have to ask; he came over and started a conversation with me while I was standing outside my home. The whole process was easy and seamless."
Visitors can tour a model of the Ranier and one other floor plan.
Priced from the $240,000s, the Lapin features four bedrooms and 21/2 baths in 1,750 square feet. The main floor features an open layout that includes a great room, kitchen with a food-preparation island and a dining room.
Buyers can personalize their home with room options such as a bonus room or a second master bedroom suite with full bath.
The Lambert floor plan is also available at Sagecrest. Priced from the $220,000s, this home features three bedrooms and 21/2 baths in 1,450 square feet. This plan offers an open layout with a great room, dining room and kitchen with nook. Upstairs, a loft is available in lieu of one of the bedrooms.
To visit, take Interstate 15 to the Blue Diamond exit and go west. Turn left on Jones Boulevard and right on Erie Avenue. The community is on the right.
