Watch the moment a deaf woman hears for the first time in her life

A 39-year-old U.K. woman can hear for the first time in her life after having an operation to install cochlear implants.

Joanne Milne was born deaf and started to lose her vision in her 20s due to a rare condition called Usher Syndrome, according to the Journal. She had always wondered what music sounded like, so John Lennon’s “Imagine” was chosen to be the first thing she would hear after a lifetime of white noise.
